AREA has been actively investing in Europe since 1995 and believes that the European real estate markets offer attractive opportunities for experienced real estate investors with detailed industry knowledge across a broad range of local markets, product categories and jurisdictions. AREA's European opportunistic investment strategy is primarily focused on being a "value" rather than a "growth" investor. AREA has focused on the acquisition of fundamentally sound, but under-managed, income-producing assets from institutional sellers in the major European markets and seeks to add value through aggressive asset management with proven local venture partners. The firm currently seeks major property types through "off-market" transactions and once an opportunity is identified, AREA subjects all investments to a rigorous underwriting process. Since 1995, AREA has invested over $1.6 billion of equity in Europe.
